i don't think i've mentioned to anyone that my office has no windows.
it's really a conference room on the inside of the building, only there's three of us crammed into it.
it's actually quite fun, and i'm all for open plan offices now,
but it still means i go into work in the morning when it's light, and come out at 6ish when it's already dark.
i basically miss the day.
we joke that we are eternal optimists - the sun is always shining in our minds.

anyway, i got off work yesterday and decide i needed some fresh air after a long day inside.
it was too cold (or i was too lazy) for a run, so i put on my new jacket and went for a walk.
i think this is the BEST jacket i have ever owned.
i dared the wind to give me the chills - to try to get to my bones, but there was no way!
this is a down jacket that i hastily bought in new york's century 21.
when i got out of the shop, i hated it and after about 10 minutes - really couldn't remember why i bought it - except that i knew it was going to get cold in boston. but that hardly seemed a reason to buy a coat in 5 minutes. every other coat i own has been lovingly purchased and fawned over for weeks before any money changed hands.

in any case, i was concerned about style. it's not very stylish, it's just a brown, puffy, knee-length coat with snowflakes stitched in brown thread. i think a twelve year old would love it. but i really could care less about that now. it's like being wrapped up in a princess's bed.

my grandmother is going to send me her snow boots and some warm mittens to borrow for the winter. (i refused to buy snow boots for 2 months of cold weather and she's off to florida and aruba where she won't need them anyway!)

so i should be all set.
i'm off to work to enjoy the sunshine.
