well ok.
the lady at the bagel/coffee shop just below my office doesn't know my name.
but for the first time, i didn't have to tell her what i wanted.
she knew automatically that i wanted half decaf and half pumpkin spice.
that was a good way to start the day.
actually, it started even better and i was already smiling on my way to work because:
1. it's thanksgiving tomorrow and that is my favorite holiday
2. i had a nice conference call with tony and aden where aden said that because i was on the front line here, they knew things were being handled well and that he (aden) and tony could sleep better for this at night. this is a very nice compliment from aden. (plus he has a hard time sleeping and himself uses ambien, i know, so even MORE so a compliment!)
3. quite a few placements came through at work and ones that we're very proud of (sauces'n'love being the one that makes me laugh the most. aparently oprah loves them!)
4. a funny joke at work, which may not be funny to people who do not sit in windowless, airless offices for 10 hours/day. but we have this 40 year old senegalese man who we've been trying to place and we've done well and got him two interviews - one of them is quite far out and so my colleague kate was enquiring as to transportation for him as he is motorless. we decided this could be asked in two words: 'ababanocar. ababacarpool?' - which we thought was hilarious. perhaps you had to be there. these are the jokes in the crazy world of internships.
5. i am sitting in logan airport waiting for my flight back to a place where everybody knows my name!
and VERY excited to see my friends.
must post this now because it keeps crashing. will have to finish later.
Happy thanksgiving everyone! (don't OVERWHIP the cream!)
