or continues, i should say.
on sunday i am off to montreal. our bosses have asked us to save the company money and drive - so i will be spending 7 hours in a car with 3 of my colleagues. i think it will be fun - though very likely much more fun on the way up to montreal than the drive back on friday after having spent 24/7 with them the entire week. still, i like them and we're all friends, so it shouldn't be too bad.
travelling so much makes me much more of a homebody when i am home. i couldn't help it that i was sick all of last weekend (recovering from the crazy night in vegas, methinks) ... but even after the sniffles had gone, i still find myself home in the evenings just enjoying my down time. i haven't really been exploring boston as much as i thought i would. my attempt to buy a bike on craigslist failed when i realised that i wouldn't really be home to enjoy it much over the next month - so it wasn't really worth it.
i went to a lunchtime workshop yesterday called 'a whack on the side of the head' (based on a book of the same by roger von oech) given by a very left-of-center therapist who works with women in transition. i thought it was going to be a networking opportunity with all sorts of successful women (i envisioned 30-40 women, in a lecture-style room) but instead was surprised to find only 4 other women besides myself - all very serious about the transition in their lives and where they were going/wanted to go. so quite an intimate discussion about change, fear and what holds us back. interesting, if a little kooky.
i also had a doctor's appointment yesterday for a physical - haven't had one of those in YEARS since i don't think they believe in them over in england. (more like don't have the resources on the NHS to provide regular check-ups. sadly the NHS doesn't seem to have room for preventative medicine, only reactive).
and i also had a meeting with a financial advisor. so should i decide to move back to the states - there may be hope for me yet! we talked about long term and short term goals and what i'd need to do to achieve them. if anyone has ANY advice or any good books to read on personal finance - i'd be open to suggestions! i'm hopeless when it comes to understanding the US system. actually what i really need is an accountant who understands US and UK workings - so if anyone knows anyone, please pass details to me!!
so as you can see, yesterday was all about ME.
anyway, enough, must finish up my friday at work and get on!
happy weekend to everyone!

What a busy day you had- don't ever worry about spending too much time on you! You are so worth it. It sounds to me like you really have things together- taking care of body and mind and soul all in one day. I am, as always, so proud of you. Had dinner with Stu and Shari tonite at Oswalds and Stu went on and on about you- what a great spirit, personality, catch!
I love you.
