it's another cold and snowy day in boston! actually, this is the first time it's snowed since i've been back from california. i've had these snow boots in my closet just itching to get out again! so long story short, i've been working hard (not really) and hanging out with alex, the apartment guy. can't go into too many details here, but we've been hanging out and having fun! today i think we're going to go for a walk, see a movie, grab some dinner and then maybe drinks. it is like a saturday here, afterall, with MLK day being tomorrow. it's all very sweet and new and romantic. i think we're both disappointed i have to leave in two weeks - but making the best of the two weeks!
apart from that, the pats lost last night - which left most bostonians terribly disappointed. i wasn't bothered, stayed in watching a rerun of 'stepmom' with julia roberts and susan sarandon before going out to a bar with a girlfriend for a drink. i don't know why i love that movie, but i always seem to catch it when it's on telly, so i've probably seen it 3-4 times. probably the same reason i love good will hunting, and extreme makeover: home edition. sappy. maybe i'm just a big sap afterall. being tough gets so tiring!
i'm making a pot of oatmeal now, i've bought some brown sugar (which i will probably use 4 times before i have to leave), i've got joni mitchell on the stereo, and alex just hand delivered me a copy of the boston globe. i am now perfectly content and set for a lovely sunday morning/afternoon.
(you forget he works in my building! everything is so convenient!)

Sounds like a lovely Sunday- We are doing the same thing on the West Coast- only it's Cosmos (and this after an 11-pub crawl in the City) and the San Francisco Chronicle and chowder and the full moon rising on the wharf in Santa Cruz- followed by the two hour premier of this season's "24". I guess you must get your sappiness from your folks. Love.
