a run ... fun?

i don't think so.
actually, it wasn't too bad.
we walked a little bit of the way, maybe 1/2 mile or so, and then ran the rest in 43 minutes. sadly, we trailed off at the last 100 yards unaware that we were supposed to wrap around the corner to the actual finish line, so we're not even in the final number count. if we were though, i think we would've been nearly last. i don't know why it's so hard for me to pick up the pace, maybe it's the fact that (truth be told) i'm really not a runner. there, i said it.

sadly by the time we got to the end, there were 800 people in front of us queuing for jerk chicken, and we had to meet some people in town later - so we didn't actually stay for the food or free booze. so actually, we ended up taking the 'fun' out of the 'run' - but nevermind. i'm glad we did it.

so now it's the beginning of a 4 day weekend here. hooray! we might head to the beach tomorrow, or maybe up to maine. nothing set yet - but something fun, no doubt. bring on the weekend!
